Although quinoa is not a very well known grain, it's nutritional power is outstanding. I first heard about the grain not too long ago, but I had no idea of it's amazing nutritional value compared to other grains and how well it could help you to burn fat and lose weight. Several months after I heard about it I found it again, but this time I was looking over a book on superfoods. I couldn't believe that I had only heard about this grain recently even though it is one of the healthiest out there!

So what makes quinoa so healthy? Well, quite a number of things actually. What I like about it the most is its protein content. Only 1/4 cup uncooked has as much protein as an egg! The significant protein content will be a great help to burn fat and lose weight. That's really amazing for a grain. But even more importantly, it has all of the amino acids, which means that its a complete protein! Complete proteins aren't extremely common in the plant world, which is why vegetarians need to watch their diets to make sure that they eat all the amino acids necessary, and part of which makes this grain so amazing.

In the way of other nutrients, quinoa is definitely a superfood. For a grain it has a decent amount of manganese, iron, magnesium, phosphorous, and fiber. Furthermore, it is relatively low in calorie content. All of these ingredients together make quinoa a great food for people wanting to burn fat, lose weight, and get more toned muscles.

Quinoa has a bit of a nutty flavor to it, but it goes great with nearly anything. For breakfast I enjoy it with some raisins or other types of dried fruit mixed in, just like oatmeal. Honey also goes well with it as a sweetener. For lunch it's about the same thing as breakfast for me, but it can be mixed in with soup or whatever else you may be having. For dinner I like to fry up some different vegetables and toss them in with the cooked quinoa.

However, really anything will work with this grain, so you can look up some recipes online or try your own with it and know that it's helping you to burn fat, lose weight, and tone your muscles either way!
